There are approximately 2 lakh products marketed across the world for treating hair loss. But only 2 products are approved by FDA people.MINIOXIDIL & FINASTERIDE

MINIOXIDIL:
The minioxidil is 1st introduced in the U.S.A in 1988 and available in 2%, 5% and 10% concentration all over the world. It should be administered as a topical agent and should be taken orally as it may affect the BP.
MODE OF APPLY: the solution must be applied directly on the scalp twice a day by using filler.
Note: Not be applying on Hair.
- The 2% preparation can be used safely by Female.
- The 5% preparation can be used safely by Male.
This medication was indicated for treating hair loss since 1998.
It primarily halts slows down hair loss process.
Risk for Women: Not indicated for female during pregnancy, accidental consumption may cause change in external genitalia of male fetus. They should handle even broken (or) crushed tablets.
NOTE: The undesirable effects of the drug is not seen on women even if male partner taking finasteride as it is not secreted in semen.
MEDICAL MGMT: Those in the early stages if hair loss usually the best candidates for medical management. One should remember that no pharmaceutical hair loss product can deliver instant results. You must be persistent and patient enough willing to use products for at least 6months to 12 months.
Others-vitamins like-biotin, folic acid,vit.C,etc do have some role in improving the hair fall & hair growth.
